If the truth be told?

At an emergency town meeting, there was an urgency to root out the reason for the escalation of the crime that had taken hold of the town, a town which twenty years ago was safe to raise a family in. The panel consisted of law enforcement personnel, clergymen, college professors, wealthy businessmen and a deadbeat parent. All were pointing fingers and attributing the blame on the young people of today. When time was given for those present in the audience to voice their opinions, this well groomed, six-foot-tall, silver haired, 89 year-old gentleman seated next to his well educated grandchildren stood to his feet and professed, "I have worked on the railroad for fifty-five years, and I've never seen a caboose cause a head on collision. In fact, that could only happen if the engine somehow got off the the right track!!
