There was this great big family who's reunion required an acre and a half of land to accommodate all members. After playing horse shoes some of the younger members was discussing how their parents whould pressure them to read and study. A ninety two year old great grandparent over hearing the discussion said to them, why does it up set you kids that your parents want you to be educated? A thirteen year old replied; papa in this day in time you don't spank and punish a kid if they refuse to read. Grandpa responded, son, I came from a time when reading and if one was caught would be beaten pretty badly are killed. He than took off his shirt exposing his back and said,I received ten lashes for every word I read.
