He’s In Real-Estate Now!

Two demons were sitting on a cloud looking down, and one said to the other, "You must really be getting old."

"What makes you think that," said the other, "I look the same!"

"Well," replied the first demon, "it’s just that in all of these thousands of years, I’ve never seen you allow a corner drug dealer to live this long."

"In time, my friend, in time," said the second demon. "You see that apartment building down there? He is in real-estate now!"

Shaking His Head

Two young girls passed an elderly man coming out of a bank who was repeatedly shaking his head. They laughed out loud, saying, "Girl, he must be crazy!"

They didn't know that just a few minutes before, the man had been inside the bank standing in line behind a young man. The old man heard the young man tell his friend that he was opening an account for his girlfriend, and that his wife had no knowledge of it.

So when he left the bank, all the old man could do was shake his head, saying in his mind, "Ooh my Lord."

Blessing Through Ignorance

A very bad and disrespectful kid lived just down the block from an elderly lady who was deaf and slightly blind. The lady would sit on her porch during the afternoon, staring straight ahead, and the very disrespectful kid would drive by every day with his chrome wheels spinning and his radio blasting.

The lady had, just a month ago, received news from her doctor telling her he had done all that he could do for her condition, and that she should pray that she should find some source of sunlight to reflect in her eyes and a constant source of noise to open up her eardrums.

All It Took Was a Raincoat

A lady great in age and wisdom was buying her granddaughter ice-cream in a parlor. She turned to a place in her Bible where she kept her money and paid the cashier.

Just then, the door swung open and two people rushed in out of the rain, one shanking and very cold and the other looking just fine.

The little girl asked her grandma why one of the people was shaking and his friend was not.

Grandma held her Bible close and said, "One went out into the storm without his raincoat."

They're At It Again

Two elderly ladies were shopping in a little outdoor vegetable market when gun fire rang out.

They turned around and saw this lifeless figure on the ground just a ways off.

One looked at the other and said, "They're at it again." When a detective came up and asked them who committed the crime, they both said they didn't know.

"But someone reported you saying 'They're at it again,'" said the suspicious detective.

"Son, we were talking about those evil spirits that are seeking out and destroying lives," said one of the women.

The Wrong People in the Lineup

The case that didn’t make it to court:

A young man walked into a police station in a big city and said to the officer behind a desk, "I would like to report a crime."

The officer asked what the crime was and who was the victim. "Robbery," said the young man, "and I am the victim. I was robbed of my potential toward success."

The officer has some known criminals stand in a lineup so the young man can identify who committed the crime.

"Sir," says the young man, "you have the wrong people in the lineup.Instead you should have deadbeat parents, a teacher who didn't teach, a preacher who deceives, an unfair employer, the politician who lies, and a friend who’s not."

I Wouldn't Cause You to Leave Again

Sitting on a swing in a quiet little country town, this young mother of three was talking to her grandmother, telling her about how difficult it's been raising her kids without a father, and how unfair the system is.

The grandmother sat quietly listening with a glorious look on her face. Her granddaughter began to get upset and said, "Grandma you look like you don’t you even care."

Grandma smile and gently put her hands on each side of her granddaughter's face, and said,

Darling, of course I do, it’s just that at my age, you learn from your past mistakes. Years ago we were sitting on this same swing, don’t you remember? I was talking to you about young men and you became quiet upset and told me that things were different from my time and left for the big city. My heart was broken so badly and I promised myself that if you were to ever come back, I would never say or do anything that may cause you to leave again.

You've Got to Be a Fool!

Common Sense was standing in front of a golden gate, directing a steady line of people inside so that they could get to the other side for much-needed resources.

You've Got To Be A Fool was standing guard in front of a huge wall encased in barbed wire. On the other side of the wall was a vault full of money and other amenities.

Day after day, You've Got To Be A Fool watched Common Sense with amazement as people flocked to his gate. One day he approach Common Sense and asked him why everyone was in his line. Common Sense looked him square in the eyes and said, "You've got to be a fool!"

Choice for the Wrong Peace

An elderly lady stood tall in front of a great gate and behind her were these two paths, one of which led to the mountain of choice.

She had a book containing the meaning of both paths. The book told the story of two people who, after spending days on the mountain of choice, both returned on different paths. One returned with untold amounts of riches, cars, diamonds, jewelry of all kinds, women, a huge crowd, a band playing loud music, and a solid gold frame without an image inside it.

The other one returned with an old oak frame containing an image of a person in a rightful old age and a pleasant smile.

Someone asked the elderly lady in front of the gate what the meaning of all this was. She replied that the one with the untold riches chose the peace of this world, and the other with the wooden frame containing the image of the old person chose the peace that’s not of this world.

Then the person asked what the band was and why they were playing loud and sad music. The elderly lady responded that was his funeral march.

Grandma Pulled Dad’s Ear

This Great grandparent was sitting on her swing , while a father and son were sitting on the porch discussing, what the son should do concerning girls, a questions asked by the son seem to rattle the father, and he hesitated in answering,, then suddenly there was this YELL!! and suddenly Grandma was on the porch saying; "son you should never disrespect girls in any way, and someday in the future, your hormones will test what you've learned about being abstinent, and, make sure, you never stop any girl from saying, "Your Grandma is just like mine", his  mother comes out onto the porch, asking what was that yell, he replied; "Ooh, that was when Grandma pulled dad’s ear."

Why Don't I Understand?

War is being waged and the enemy seems to be winning ... but why?

In this camp of evil these generals have come together to strategize their attack. This is what their plan says:

We will remove from them the knowledge of who they really are and bend their desires toward what they think they want, blinding their eyes and hearts away from what they really need. Then after the spirit of confusion has infiltrated their defenses, we can go in and finish off those who escaped the slaughter. We will cause them to rain upon each other.

Archives of Glory

In the year of 2020 a student was assigned to write a report on the extinction of a generation. Another student asked him about where he was gathering his information.

He responded that it was from the Archives of Glory. He explained that when he was 2 years old, there was this generation before him, but by the time he became a young adult, only a very few of them were left.

In order for him to correctly complete his project, why so many had disappeared. The Archives of Glory held evidence of elderly people who had tried to instruct this generation in the wisdom needed for their continual survival, only to have their counsel rejected, be disrespected, and be pushed aside like they had no value.

The generation began being guided by the forces of evil which caused them to destroy each other through drug addiction, murder, all sorts of sexual diseases, deception, etc. -- all because they never took the opportunities to become wiser that were in front of them. Instead they became a generation of potential killers, with the exception of those few we see now that heeded the instructions of those that are now recorded in the Archives of Glory.

Happy Mother's Day!

The Winner Is...

Prideful Intellect and Common Sense agreed to compete against one another in a foot race to see which was truly the champion. They each agreed that the first tennis shoe to cross the finish line would be declared the winner.

The crowd included supporters of both contestants, anxiously awaiting the start of the race. Bang!! At the sound of the starting pistol, Prideful Intellect sprinted through the area of Dot Your I's and Cross Your T's, with common sense always running three feet behind. Both of them ran through the area of World History.

Prideful Intellect, less then five feet away from crossing the finish line, stops to turn around and laugh at Common Sense. Common Sense abruptly stops, takes off his tennis shoes, and throws them six feet ahead of him. The winner is ...

Keeping It Real

If you keep it real, no one can give you anything false. Originality is more easily defined by knowledge of what is truly synthetic.

So Many Vaults, But So Little Treasure

While walking along a boardwalk in this quiet little town where a great deal of elderly people resided, this couple overheard a journalist interviewing a retired banker, asking him about what and why today’s conditions are the way they are.

The retired banker responded:

In times past, many of the elderly people you see here and all over the country prepared themselves for times like this. In banking, for example, vaults were used for storing money, which you could access when you needed the money.

But today, the elderly are treated so disrespectfully, as if they have no importance or value, abandoned to sometimes well-kept nursing homes that really compare to being in jail.

As a result, you now have so many vaults but so little treasure.

Note: This story was inspired by two lovely elderly ladies I came across while assisting people in a shelter in Baton Rouge, La., who went there because of Hurricane Katrina. God Bless the both of you and thanks for giving me a boot that strengthened my spirit.

Reality Is Governed By Law

It is next to impossible for a caboose to lead an engine; there is no way to reach a destination point while backing away from it or standing still.

One left to himself becomes selfish; a lack of reason gives birth to non-accountability.

You Are Wife!

You are someone who comes complete.
You are someone whose G.P.S. points me toward peace.
You are someone who generates the spark of love.
You are someone who houses the spirit of guidance.
You are someone who protects me from mistakenly being with just anyone.
You are one of God's mercies given to me as a gift.
You are the tunnel through which potential greatness passes through.
You choose to tighten your grip, where others let loose.
Your glory radiates in your title.

You are wife!

Alert! Watch Who You Send.

You can’t send out a sheep dressed as a shepherd to guard your flock. Wolves smell through cloth ... and they do eat flesh.

Some Walls Must and Do Come Down!

Education is a much-needed tool for breaking down the wall of exclusion and its many advocates.

Different Sounds of a Fall

A story by Coach James Joseph:

In a particular classroom, there were sounds of thumps coming from a room down the hallway, with a sign posted on the door that said "Beware of falling objects."

A student raised his hand for permission to find out the meaning of these sounds. The instructor replied, "Oooh, that’s just the sound of people falling from pride."

The student than asked, why some sounds are louder than others. The instructor replied: "Some fall from greater heights

Born of Fear

Some fears and all weaknesses bear a distinct image; other fears give birth to humbleness and respect.

Maturity

The path toward the arrival at one of two destinations lies within the power of choice.

Acronymic Place of Truth

Acronymic identity is and should be a certification of one’s accomplishments -- whether it be Ph.D., CPA, Dr., a.k.a. Drifter -- but character is the only definer of what we are truly like.

True Leaders

-Those who have been guided by a higher order in truth and fairness, either through what they learned or a personal relationship.

-Those who have no thoughts of personal glory or gain of any kind, outside of what's necessary for the endeavors at hand and the preservation of one's family.

-Those who lighten the burdens of the one they are leading, and don't add to their burden for any reason.

- Those who are willing and able to search out a path.

Enhancement Target

The beginning of any enhancement of our lives is encompassed in having the courage to stare the potential of failure in its face and combat it at all costs, first refusing to be held bond by mistakes made in the past, and then grabbing hold of the productive path that leads to a predestined future that awaits our arrival if we don’t get weary along the journey.

Am I Blind To Truth?

There is without a doubt a constant growth -- in addition to misery, stress, hopelessness, and crime -- of symptoms caused by those of us entrapped by greed, personal glory, and just plain apathy.

These people are first in line to unfairly convict and create unfair laws upon their victims. Maybe we should amend some of these laws to include accountability!

My writing is in no way siding with those who willingly perpetrate horrific crimes, nor do I advocate against fair and firm justice.

The New Stock Market at Our Future's Expense

- T- shirts bearing pictures of what really are memorials.

- The privatizing of correctional institutions and the demolition of schools.

- Condos being erected while neighborhood communities are denied much needed resources to stay in existence.

- The outsourcing of jobs (and cutting out of higher educational and recreational programs) that are needed here in the U.S. to sustain ourselves and our families.

Hug Them Through Prayer!

When the ones we love are pulled away from us, by way of desire or deception, it causes us great discomfort by way of heartfelt pain.

When the hugs that were are now blocked by whatever it is that blinds their heart’s eye and keeps them from receiving genuine care, concern, and love, we must not give up or discontinue the true love that we hold in our hearts for them.

We must and should in those times hug them through prayer!

What Do Our Words Do?

Words that resonate from our mouths do find targets of reception, so should common sense tell us that which is verbally release has planted seeds of hope, care, concern, and love in the receptor?
